You win some, you lose some
I had a wonderful time at the mixed elements event in Almere Buiten. Three days of painting. Crashing at a friends place with more painting and of course the occasional tag in the streets.
But nothing compared to the partner I got hooked up with. A thirteen year old boy who was amazing. He’s a world champion breakdancer and had some very skilled moves during the performance. A performance I supplied with some great art work.
I wasn’t at my top doing my best. I was doing the utmost with all the power that’s been left in me. It was a struggle to keep the pace. But I managed I pulled if a great background which I would give a 8 or a B if u live in the states.
The level of competition was huge. I’ve seen some great art pieces and everything was accompanied with dancers. I had a blast. Everyone was great. It must have been hard on the judges.
Even though the judge was in fashion so it was all but logical that the winner dressed up the performers in some custom designed apparel. She painted a mural for the second time in her life. And put more effort into it than all the competitors together.
So it’s only fair that she should win. I see a great future for her as a designer/creative. The performance was accompanied with live music. Something that gave the presentation something special.
So all and all within my best efforts there didn’t lie a win in it for me and my amazing dancer. Who came up with great ideas for the performance. He wanted to do something with his Armenian roots so he selected La Bohème as his song.
Which I liked seeing most artist can relate to that song being lost in your arts. And subjects. Coming back to a part of your life where you want to make sense of it all and it seems so empty.
Yet you love again.
He came up with the use of holi-powder from India. To splash it against the painting as if he was painting and portraying my life. While I used his image to portrait him. Doing my life.
This kid if he’s not being picked up by some amazing dance school. I hope he chooses a career where his ideas make money. He’s got a creative mindset to sell concepts. This is very valuable. He’s a great story teller.
So we had the briefing completed to the max. That’s a win on its own and it was amazing to have video footage from the performance. I didn’t know that this was on my bucket list. But now it is it was and is completely completed.
I want more of this kind of things. They were amazing. Bliss. Stay high! Stay creative!
